Marley Contract Services, Scotland's leading pitched roofing contractor, has secured a £5 million rendering and roofing agreement with North Ayrshire Council. Following a competitive tendering process, the organisation was awarded the three year contract which will see it refurbish over 1100 council-owned properties in the area.

As principal contractor on the project, Marley Contract Services will be responsible for renovating roughcast and rendering to North Ayrshire Council homes within Ardrossan, Saltcoats and Stevenston. The contractor will also manage the replacement of uPVC fascias and the removal and improvements to chimneys and fireplaces.

Marley Contract Services was selected by North Ayrshire Council after it was impressed with the company’s cost efficient pricing and ability to deliver a consistent level of high quality workmanship. The council also cited Marley Contract Services’ commitment to supporting the local economy and job creation as a key factor in selecting it as principal contractor. A requirement of the agreement was that Marley Contract Services will employ one apprenticeship for every £1 million spent by the council, but so far the roofing contractor has already appointed four apprentices and five trainee operatives to support the project.
